Design Team

I'm Teresa Rene and I'm the owner / creator of Decoupage Queen brand. I started this brand because I absolutely LOVE rice paper, you might even say I'm obsessed. When I first took up decoupage as a hobby, I was fascinated by all the choices of papers, but I soon realized that the size of the paper would have to dictate the size of my project. I really wanted more options and more sizes, so I decided to make them myself to suit the project I wanted to do. I fell in love with the Italian rice papers, so I started printing my designs on rice paper. I quickly discovered that other people wanted what I had to offer, so Decoupage Queen was born.
I am a mom of three kids and 2 adult stepkids. Our daily life keeps me busy and entertained, and creating is my therapy. I took several years of classical drawing and oil painting where I studied things like composition and color theory, which has helped tremendously in my design work. My step daughter, Heather, and I have a booth space together in Marietta  along with an online retail business where we offer a variety of products for mixed media and DIY artists.

The thing I enjoy most about Decoupage Queen is the people I've met along the way. From the many artists who I now consider friends, to our amazing fulfillment staff in Atlanta, our extremely talented retailers, our group members and customers, and my suppliers and business partners across the world that I've had the pleasure of working with.

Hi All, my name is Roberta Marone, from Italy. I have been working part time for more than 15 years for the most important Italian decoupage and decoration magazines, and in the last years I have worked  as a freelance artist and teacher.  I was born in a family of Artists. My mother was a pianist, and my father and grandpa were painters. It was fun to grow up in the midst of canvas and colors, but I always knew I wanted to do something different in life. So I discovered decoupage by chance when I came across some Victorian Christmas prints, and it was love at first sight. I was fascinated by the infinite possibilities of using prints and mixing them with all the techniques I have learnt at the Studio.

I can say that Santa changed my life.

I cannot describe my own style. I am a restless spirit that needs to change often everything, colors, techniques, materials. I love to be different, not only from other decoupage artistis, but also from what I have already done, that’s the reason why I don’t like schemes when working.

In  my private life I am totally different. I am a full time wife, mother of two wonderful young women, with whom I share a passion for art  and  music. I lead a very simple life. My great passion are Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, I have three beautiful ones and I’d probably have a fourth or a fifth if I’d have enough space. I get lost into their sweet round eyes and funny faces. They are my joy and my great love.

I am very happy and proud to be part of the Decoupage Queen Creative Team.  As a woman, cause I have found a group of talented and collaborative colleagues who share my passion and who support each other. As decoupage artist, cause I found out  infinite possibilities to create with DQ papers. And I hope to be able to share with you my passion and skill and give you the ideas you were looking for to create your own masterpiece.

Art is not always about pretty things.

It’s about who we are, what happened to us, and how our lives are affected.

-Elisabeth Broun

That’s how I think about painting furniture.

I currently live in the Netherlands with my kids and a lot of animals.

After working with animals full time for about 15 years, I had two children with their own challenges ( syndrome and autism) and I had to stop working to take care of them but I don’t like sitting still so I opened my own nail salon.

It was about then when I met my boyfriend ( soon to be my husband) with his two girls and with his support I started letting my creative juices flow. About a year ago I wanted to do something with that creativity, something that stays, instead of growing out within 3 weeks lol.

I don’t have a real style I think, just whatever comes to my mind. Usually something bold and something that will stand out. I don’t have a favourite piece as I fall in love with the piece I’m working on every time. If I don’t have that feeling I will paint it over again until I do have butterflies .

Even before I got on the Decoupage Queen team I was in love with their papers!

They give so much inspiration by the colours and themes that it almost becomes easy to create something special. I’ve only been with the team for a short while but these wonderful creative people give me so much energy through their  enthusiasm and they make me feel so welcome in this awesome team. I'm so happy to be part of them!

With love Ilse from Stylish Interior

My name is Vaklina,my life goes between Denmark and Bulgaria,in general I feel like a person of the world!

I started renovating furniture 10 years ago ,with a big passion and interest in it.

Later on I created my danish fb page which had transformed into very much international now.

I am also a creator of one of the biggest art/creative groups in Bulgaria on fb,which I love as my”baby” and it awakened a lot of people out there to start creating themselves!

I am thankful and honoured to be a part of the team of WoodUbend & PoshChalk as well as part of the family of Decoupage Queen!

A little bit about me… my name is Iuliana, I am from Romania and I have moved in London 10 years ago. Moving here was a big challenge as I couldn’t speak or understand any single English word, and this made my start here difficult. However, I do like challenges, so here I am, after 10 years calling this country my home.

In my daily life I am working as Commercial Director for a Training Facility in London. This job is keeping me very busy for the last 7 years. I have found my creativity about 4 years ago when I realised that I am missing something in my life…and I need a way to escape the busy London’s life and the 12 hours working days… I felt like my creative spirit woke up and told me I can create the pretty chic things I am passionate about.

I believe that there are many ways to express our feelings, thought and desires. We can use songs, words, images, motion. I do it in my own way…creating shabby chic items, upcycling, turning something plain in something ‘’one of a kind’’. Expressing my creativity is my meditation, my relaxation, my therapy.

I do all my crafting in a small corner of my living room and I dream of a large crafty room

I am inspired by everything, but loving shabby chic and vintage style, the French and English cottages provide an endless source of inspiration. I think I am still on the journey to discover my own style…and while I love to try different styles, new techniques and colours, seems like I always come back to soft pink and floral designs

I have many favourite pieces, but the closets to my soul is the ‘’ Antiques goddess Vintage Panel’’

I am grateful and happy to be part of Decoupage Queen Design Team! I love the beautiful papers which feed my creativity and inspire me. Although I have just started as a member of the DQ Design Team, I know the work of all the wonderful creative artists in this Team, and I feel motivated  and inspired by them.

With Love, Iuliana from Love Shabby Chic

If you love what you do you never work a day in your life.

Hello, my name is Shannon Stefanacci.  I live in sunny southwest Florida, Fort Myers to be exact.

I have four children and two grandchildren.  I am 51 years old and have been married to my hubby for 27 years.  I have 4 dogs and a kitty I rescued.

I earned my MA degree in Education and taught for about 10 years, giving it up to stay home with my children.  However, I am not one that can sit still long.  Fast forward, I discovered chalk paint, which changed everything for me.

I have always enjoyed creating and making for as long as I can remember. It didn’t matter if it was with crayons, markers, or paint, I loved it all.  Now, I consider myself a furniture artist.  I enjoy taking old, scratched, damaged quality furniture and making them pretty again.  I started in my garage and fast forward I have a brick and mortar shop, which is my pride and joy. This is my 10th year and I couldn’t imagine life without it.  My shop is called Pickin’ Boots Vintage. It is a vintage shop full of talented vendors and full of DIY supplies for other makers.  I create a lot of videos on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and of course my favorite, TikTok.   For me it is about having fun as much as creating.

I am thrilled to be part of the Decoupage Queen Design Team.  I can’t wait to create and share products from this fabulous company.

For most of my life I have lived in a little village in a valley in South Wales in the UK. I'm surrounded by the most fantastic views of mountains and trees but also only live a few miles from the beach. Andrew and I have been married for 26 years and we have a son Brad who lives away from home. I have recently started up my own business but I still work full time in Quality Assurance for a research company.

My passion for arts and crafting started at a young age with sewing, crocheting and knitting which my Mam and Nan taught me. My favourite thing to do was to gather interesting stuff like moss and twigs from the garden to put in jars and make little terrariums. I did art, metal working and technical drawing in school which gave me a good foundation to work on. I'm currently into mixed media, cardmaking, scrapbooking and recently discovered a knack for sculpting!

Who knows what you will see on my projects as I'm a bit eclectic in taste and style!! However, I'm inspired by nature and this shines out on most of my projects as either they are earthy colours or of flora / fauna. I love how nature recycles itself like with rust, natural element erosion and decay which brings a plethora of colours and shapes in the way of fungi, lichens and moss or the remains left after a visit from the insect clean up crew!

Hey girl hey!My name is Jess, also known as Matter of Crafts. I’m a versatile mixed media artist, proud mom, and wife. I scrapbook, make canvases, cards, and even alter furniture and home decor pieces. I pride myself on up-cycling whenever possible. I love working with flowers, layering papers, working with mold castings, and creating lots of my own different and interesting textures. I have a unique love and taste for the strange, creepy, and gory arts too.

Hello everyone, I'm Jennifer Collos.

I am 36 years old. I live in Upper Normandy in France. I am the mother of 3 beautiful boys who are 12, 8 and 2 years old. I scrap depuis for 18 years now. I went through all the styles to stop on what I like the most, the Mixed Media.

I'm very shabby, but I'm starting to play with vintage, grunge that I love a lot. I like to play with paintings, my cute peach tree as well as object alteration. I have an unconditional love for the art journal. I hope you will like my work, which is not the same as the rest of the team.

Hello everybody!!

My name is Silvia (Diysil Art on social media).

I was born and have always lived in Barcelona (Spain) although my life takes place between Barcelona and Gerona, where we have a second residence, in a beautiful coastal area, known as Costa Brava, which we fell in love with many years ago!

I'm 52 years old, married, and I have two teenage children, a 22-year-old boy and a 19-year-old girl.

I haven't worked outside the home for a few years now, which has allowed me to have more time to dedicate to my hobby and passion for art.

I really like the mix of techniques, and one of my favourites is decoupage. I think it can be integrated into many creations, apart from home decorations. So being in this fantastic team and enjoying the spectacular designs of Decoupage Queen is a luxury and an incentive for me!

I also like to do scrapbooking, although I admit that I'm not very good at taking measurements, but I try, it's like a personal challenge.

For my creativity, I like to alternate and vary continuously, from vintage to colourful works, from steampunk to shabby, I love many different styles, and also to create in different formats and decorative bases, it really is what I like, to try everything!

My name is Liene and I’m Hameleon’s social media “voice”. ' Now, for a little bit about me.  I’m a 35 years young Mom of two boys and in my daily life I’m working in the banking industry as manager in the business intelligence area. But let’s talk about Hameleon.  Hameleon is crafty Mom (Anita) and daughter (Liene) duo.  Sometimes this duo is complemented by my sister (Zinta) who does watercolours and my husband (Igors) who creates wooden blanks for us. We are from Latvia, one of the Baltic States.

Hameleon started 11 years ago where I did decoupage and Mom did silk paintings. I found decoupage was the best fit for me as I wanted to create beautiful things, but I can’t draw like my Mom and sister.  Mom suggested that I check out decoupage, where you don’t need to draw, but instead you can glue an already drawn picture on a surface.  As you can see, I have been and am still creating with decoupage!

We have been stretching Hameleon's wings to do a lot more.  We build, upcycle, do interior design, sometimes we flip furniture and paint with watercolours.  We do small home décor with help of stamps, stencils, transfers and silicone moulds, we glue napkins, office paper and rice paper, we flip tiles and old clocks, create table clothes for Easter, we bake gingerbreads in silicone moulds and many more things.  In one word, we are “Hameleon” and as a real chameleon does, we are changing our “colours” based on the situation, opportunities and interests.

In the past 11 years, we have organised charity craft fairs with a goal to help kids with health issues as well as homeless pets.  We built our home and workshop (by ourselves) and have had two beautiful baby boys join our crafty family (along with Saimon the cat).  Throughout all these years we have kept true love and passion towards crafting, painting and building.

Becoming a Decoupage Queen Design Team member is a big honour for us and it is a significant milestone in our craft journey.  We are happy to join such a friendly and warm community like DQ DT is.

We dream to sell next generation DIY materials in Latvia, in our workshop and e-shop, from brands like Annie Sloan, IOD, Prima and we see that Decoupage Queen rice paper will be a wonderful fit as well.  Our future dream is to conduct on-site and online master classes in our workshop.  These classes would allow us to pass our knowledge to other people, to spread creativity, to help people to open their creativity, teach them how to create beautiful decorations by their own hands and teach how to play with the paint and easy to use DIY supplies.  Through this people can get new emotions, free up their mind, rest and meditate.  Like Albert Einstein once said: Creativity Is Intelligence Having Fun.

Hello! I'm Kaity Ryan, owner and Artist at Forest Lore.

Nature, art, herbalism and reading are the things I live for besides my two children, Jax and Colbie and my rescue dog Artemis. I live in New York where the beautiful seasons inspire my work. Predominantly, I paint furniture but I like to work on smaller projects from time to time. I teach both  painting and mixed media classes in my shop. I'm so excited to be a part of the Decoupage Queen Design Team and share projects with all of you!

Hi Crea Red here, which is my artist name because I am a redhead and creative.

My own name is Karin Boreas, I am 50 years young and just discovered my creativity 3 years ago after therapy for burn-out.

I worked as a Police woman for many years, but now my world is all about crafting.

I’ve been married for 27 years to my best friend and Soulmate Roy. We have 2 sons Kay 22 and Bryan 25 years old. We are all Dutch but live just 1km over the border in Germany. We have a small dog named Gipsy. I love 3D mixed media and steampunk style.

I also love working with Rice papers too, they can be used in so many ways. I think I can be a bold crafter but also with a soft touch sometimes.

My favourite piece I ever made? Difficult, I like several very much, but I think it has to be  my steampunk torso. Usually my inspiration comes from how I feel that day. Emotions are very often the reasonbehind why  I make art. But it can also be a chipboard or an image. If I have no inspiration, I do not panic. I just go and take a walk, do other things and try it again in a few days. Pinterest is great for ideas too.

Being in Design Teams is not always a fairytale, there are many differences. Decoupage Queen DT is really a team, we have a lot of contact and we laugh a lot.I love that, it feels like coming home. Teresa is so kind and is like a mom to us I guess. It feels like the family I always wanted, no competition but just helping and inspiring each other.

I love giving workshops, teaching, which I now do online and in my own group with Inge, called MIXED MEDIA SOULMATES.

About 6 years ago, my oldest son was leaving for college (my other one wouldn't be far behind) and I realized I'd have to do something to fill my days as I'd been a stay at home mom for 20 years.

My first endeavor was a flock of 12 chickens.

They, and my two dogs, were a hoot to hang out with, but I still needed something else to do.

I've always been a creative soul and when I saw people painting and selling furniture I thought I could give it a try.

Well, I was hooked!

I threw myself into it and soon started painting decor, frames, jewelry boxes and anything else I could get my hands on. Along the way I realized not only did I love painting, but I loved helping people when they had questions.

Becoming a Decoupage Queen design team member, has without a doubt, been the highlight of my creative endeavours! Not only do these papers spark my creativity but the other design team members do as well!

I've learned so much from them and they've inspired me to think outside the box with different mediums and styles. This was easy to do as my style can't be described in just a few words.

I love everything from old-world distressed to grunge and steampunk to sleek and sophisticated. And Decoupage Queen paper covers all the bases!

My only words of wisdom are that it's never too late to start something new! By venturing into the unknown, a new world has opened up leading to partnering with my mom and selling my creations in an antique booth in New Jersey as well as on-line, and now making tutorials to teach others and help spark their creativity. Who knows where it will lead you?

A little bit about me..

My name is Iveta, I am a full time artist and mom to one 3 year old little person and 2 cats!

I am Latvian born living in U.K. but I like to think that I’m just a soul inside this body (or a sack of meat as I like to sometimes call it) that I was given and I currently reside on planet earth haha!

I create to live and live to create - I found my passion for handmade about 6 years ago and I have not looked back since!

I recently learned a phrase "Body in motion tends to stay in motion" and that's literally me, no time to stop, keep those creative gears churning, there will be plenty of time to rest. Eventually.

What inspires me the most I think is the process itself, it’s my meditation, my zen and my me time. Also, there’s nothing like the high of seeing your idea come to life!

I don’t really have “my own “ style I don’t think. I get inspired by everything so my display looks more like a shelf at a curiosity shop than a mini art exhibition at some fancy art gallery.

I love everything from soft and natural to bold and extravagant!

My favourite things about being a Design Team member for Decoupage Queen are: (in no particular order )

Amazing, beautiful papers that fuel my creativity & inspire me to create.

The team itself! Wonderful group of the most talented artists that are there for you any time of the day!

The Queen Bee herself, I met this wonderful lady less than a year ago, and I feel like I've known her forever. I don't think I've ever met such kind, smart, courageous and honest (in every possible meaning of this word) person.

It's an honour to be a part of this amazing team.

(I'm not crying, you're crying!!!)

Last little nugget of wisdom - if you feel stuck and you don’t want to create or don’t know what to create, take a break. Lay all your art supplies where you can see them and then force yourself not to create. Go do something else for a day or two, you probably won’t last much longer.

Trust me, it works!

Well hi!!! First of all I'll share a bit about me... My name is Jo and I live in the beautiful South Wales Valleys here in the UK Im Avery young 58 year old - so young that I usually forget the 8 and claim to be 5!!! I've been married to the most amazing man for 38 years (poor Phil!). He has been my rock for a total of 42 years and we have two fab children Jess and Steve 33 and 35. They and their families are quite artycrafty and of course, we encourage that! We also foster dogs for a rescue charity - life is never dull! I began my crafty journey when the kids were little and I needed to find ways to keep some very busy little people occupied on a budget. From there I progressed to using art and craft in my work with children with additional needs. I carried this on in many areas of work both in schools and in the wider communities - encouraging others to express themselves through art and craft isnt just rewarding but can lead to great learning and self development too! I reached the age if 50 and realised I wanted to be able to offer people the opportunity to use art and craft as their own therapy as well as encourage people to grow and learn via a myriad of mediums. So began Craft of Hearts. A social enterprise developed just for that purpose. We are not for profit and never seem to make enough money for salaries as it goes back in to keep the business going... but who needs money right? Fast forward 8 years and I hapoen across some if the mist amazing designs on rice paper I have ever seen.... Yup you got it. Our very own Decoupage Queen. I saw some and did something I don't usually do..I contacted Teresa. I was very nervous about this (yes really), but didn't have long to wait before a lovley answer pinged into my inbox! And the rest as they say, is history. I have been blessed to be able to take these beautiful rice papers onto the craft channel The Craft Store as well as now being part of the a brilliant and talented DT! The other DT members are all so enthusiastic about rice but also about art and craft and life..... What a great place to be! Xj

Hello all! My name is Heather, and I am 30 years old based out of Atlanta, Ga.

I do most of my work (both big and small) out of my tiny apartment while working a full-time job. You are almost always guaranteed to walk and find a drop cloth down with furniture in varying stages of completion laying around. Mixed in with the furniture and crafts you will find my dog, Annie, and my two cats, Pumpkin and Oliver. They are always looking to assist me in my endeavours, usually unsuccessfully.

I love being on the Decoupage Queen design team. It is a great outlet to be creative. My primary focus tends to be on larger furniture items. Whether I am using the paper as an accent to dress up some drawers or as a beautiful focal point there is always a place for some decoupage paper in every piece. Recently, I have started branching into some smaller mixed media type art pieces, but that will never take away from my love of the big stuff. Most of my pieces are bright and bold. I use a lot of floral transfers to create elaborate designs.

The person who has inspired me the most would be my stepmom, Teresa. She has brought me into this beautiful world of crafts and is my partner in our small side business, TH Décor. We transform dated old pieces and sell them at a shop in town. I could not and would not be able to do any of this without her support and the support of my dad (his is the muscles of the business). I can’t wait to see where this goes!

A little bit about me..
My name is Inge Im 51 years young or as I myself say 49 and a bit.
I live in a small town in the middle of the Netherlands with my hubby and my diva black cat called Brandy. In my daily life I work in law enforcement which can be stressfull every now and then.
A couple of years ago work became a bit too much so I needed to find something to relax and reset my mind after work. I found my passion for making of curiosity cabinets and crafting about 2 years ago. Curiosity cabinets are my guilty pleasure and I have a lot of fun creating them. For me its a monent of relaxing in my own little world and it puts away the preassure of daily live.
In time I met lovely people who insired me to go search for other forms of craft.
So these days I do art on canvas, decoupage, steampunk and I even make cards.
I do all of my crafting in my own little craftroom which is overloaded with too many craft supplies. Or as my hubby says craft items for at least 6 other lives. I just discovered that crafting and buying crafting supplies are two totally different hobbies.

My favourite things about being a Design Team member for Decoupage Queen are:
The absolutly lovely gorgeous papers who are unique in their own way. I have not seen papers like this anywhere else and it seems the papers are getting better and better. They inspire me and my creativity  a lot and I hope they will do for a very long time.
Less then a year ago I met my fellow  team members or as we call each other - artsisters. Though we never met in real life I do believe we will some day. All of them inspire me and push my creativity. I really see them as my artsisters. The laughing we do its good for my health.
The Queen Bee herself, I met this wonderful lady less than a year ago, and I feel like I've known her forever. I don't think I've ever met such kind, smart, courageous and honest (in every possible meaning of this word) person. I stole this from Iveta, she describes perfectly what I wanted to say but better...lol.
It's an honour to be a part of this amazing team.

Creating and Inspiring thats something I hope to do with my projects for Decoupage Queen.
I hope I inspire you to create..it doesnt matter what you create..just create...
Greetings Inge
