Winter Shipping Notice for Retailers

Winter Shipping Notice for Pentart (and all) Liquids

During the winter months, liquid Pentart products can be sensitive travelers. Retailers shipping to colder climates must take proper precautions to prevent freezing.

Decoupage Queen cannot be held responsible for product failures caused by freezing temperatures once the retailer has shipped the goods.

Below are practical ways to safeguard your shipments—simple measures that help your paints and mediums arrive ready to perform.

Precautions Retailers Should Take When Shipping Pentart Liquids in Winter

1. Check local and destination temperatures
Avoid shipping when temperatures are expected to dip below freezing (32°F / 0°C). Holding an order a day or two can prevent product damage.

2. Use insulated packaging

  • Thermal bubble mailers

  • Insulated box liners

  • Foam padding that traps warmth
These act like a temporary winter coat for your bottles.

3. Add heat packs for longer routes
Single-use heat packs (12–72 hours) maintain temperature stability during transit. (Not to be used with solvent based products)
Tip: Avoid direct contact between the heat pack and the product—add a buffer layer of packaging.

4. Ship early in the week
Avoid Friday shipments that may sit in unheated trucks or warehouses over the weekend.

5. Choose faster shipping methods
Priority or express options reduce exposure time to freezing conditions.

6. Mark the package accordingly
Labels such as “Temperature-Sensitive – Do Not Freeze” help alert carriers (even if they can’t guarantee protection).

7. Communicate with customers
Retailers may advise their own customers to avoid leaving delivered parcels outdoors or in cold mailboxes.

8. Store inventory wisely before it ever ships
Keep liquid Pentart products in heated spaces. Even a brief freeze before packaging can affect performance.
