Winter Shipping Policy for Temperature-Sensitive Products

Cold-Weather Protection for Pentart (and all) Liquids

Certain Pentart products—especially liquid varnishes, glues, crackle mediums, and pastes—are sensitive to freezing temperatures. Exposure to extreme cold can permanently affect their texture and performance.

To ensure your products arrive in the best possible condition, we take additional precautions when temperatures drop, including:

  • Monitoring weather patterns for the shipping destination

  • Adding insulation or protective packaging where appropriate

  • Holding an order for 1–2 days if extreme cold or sub-zero temperatures are expected along the route

These precautions help minimize the risk of freeze-damage during transit.

How Customers Can Help Protect Their Order

Although we do our part before shipping, carriers cannot guarantee temperature-controlled environments. Because of this, customers should also take the following steps:

1. Track your shipment closely
Bring your package indoors as soon as it arrives. Leaving it outside or in a mailbox can increase freeze risk.

2. Consider faster shipping options
Priority or express services reduce the time your order spends in unheated facilities and vehicles.

3. Use a heated delivery address if possible
Shipping to a workplace or alternate location can prevent temperature exposure.

4. Be aware of local forecasts
If your area is experiencing a deep freeze, you may wish to order earlier in the week—or allow extra time for us to hold the shipment until temperatures rise.

Important Policy Notice

We store Pentart products in climate-controlled conditions prior to shipping and take additional winter precautions as noted above.
However:

  • We cannot control temperature exposure once the package is in the carrier’s possession.

  • Freeze-related damage is not eligible for refunds, replacements, or store credit.

  • By placing an order during winter months, customers acknowledge this risk and understand that brief shipping delays may occur for weatherrelated safety.

These measures allow us to protect your materials while also protecting our small business from preventable seasonal losses.
